Amanda attended the practice for a complimentary consultation with our smile advisor to discuss potential options she had to improve her smile. She was unhappy with the appearance and colour of her teeth and had a space she would like filled with an implant.

The smile advisor listened to Amanda’s concerns and went over possible options, payment plans and timescales for treatment to be completed. The advisor then arranged a full clinical dental assessment with out implant dentist Gerry which included a full examination of the mouth ,along with radiographs and 3D scans. This allowed Amanda to visually see the potential of her treatment and get her plan into motion.

Both Gerry and Amanda agreed that ceramic crowns and an implant would be the best result out of the possible options.

The Treatment

To start off her journey, Amanda attended the practice to visit our hygienist for a extensive clean to ensure her mouth was healthy before we started her smile makeover, during this appointment Amanda received a deep clean and oral health techniques to use at home to keep her mouth healthy.

The next step was to place the dental implant, this was carried out using pain free techniques to ensure Amanda’s comfort at all times, the implant was then left to heal for a few months, during this time we carried out the restorative work. Amanda returned to the practice for routine dentistry such as fillings and we also got to work starting on her crowns.
Before any of the final restorations were fitted,
Amanda received tooth whitening to ensure she was happy with the colour of her teeth.

Amanda’s final crowns and implant crown were fitted and she was absolutely over the moon with her new smile and her experience at the Tooth Doctor.

A final hygiene appointment was carried out for a deep clean and to make sure Amanda knew how to look after her new restorations going forward.

Steven attended a consultation with the Smile Advisor to address his concerns and discuss his cosmetic dental treatment options. He was unhappy with an ill-fitting denture that he had been wearing for a few years and wanted a fixed permanent solution. During the initial consultation we went over his possible implant options, payment plan options and timescales for his treatment.
We then arranged an appointment with our implant dentist Dr Gerard Skeffington for a clinical implant assessment to check his oral health and put a plan in place for creating Steven’s new smile.
Together, both Steven and Gerry then decided that extractions and implants would be the best outcome after advising Steven of all his other options.

The Treatment

Steven came to visit our hygienist to make sure his mouth was healthy before his treatment started. During this appointment he had a deep clean and was given oral health advice and was shown new techniques to try at home to keep his mouth clean and healthy.
After the hygienist appointment Steven attended an appointment with Gerry for the first stage of his implant journey and had teeth extracted and we also used plasma socket preservation to help with healing and bone regeneration.
After a couple of months of healing we placed Steven’s implants and tried to make his experience as comfortable, pain free and relaxing as possible for him.
Steven returned to the practice, and we carried out teeth whitening before we started preparation for his final dental implant bridge to make sure he was happy with the new shade of his teeth. The final bridge was then fitted four months after the implants were placed – he was delighted with the result and happy to be denture free.
A final hygiene appointment was attended for a deep clean and to make sure Steven knew how to look after his new dental implants. Steven was happy with his new smile and experience at the practice, and he has now joined our monthly ‘Pain Free Plan’ to see us regularly and maintain his new smile.

The best thing I've ever done is go to the initial consultation with the Tooth Doctor.I had extremely crooked teeth my entire adult life which I was so embarrassed out. After meeting with Sofia I decided straight away to go ahead with Invisalign treatment. I needed all my appointments to be in the evenings after work which was never a problem. In just under 1 year I now have beautiful straight teeth that I can show off and be proud of. Both are lovely, and Sofia is wonderfully professional, knowledgeable and immediately sets you at ease from the moment you step into the room. I needed a couple of fillings, both times the process was incredibly smooth and I genuinely barely felt a thing. Sofia built my filling up to look and feel like a real tooth, which was a new experience for me. The one filling I'd had before from a previous dentist always felt very smooth and artificial.The dentistry team take great care and attention in everything they do and the later opening hours/appointment system works very well for someone like me who works 6 days a week almost all year round. 5 star dental practice in Carluke with 5 star treatment from start to finish .No pain and a far different experience at tooth Doctor .Just went through an implant process and tooth doctor and Gerry and indeed all the staff were brilliant .Thank youUpdate Oct 2025- next part of process before final stages seen hygienist 2 weeks ago and now ive just completed next part of process As usual Gerry was brilliant and never felt a thing had a choice of extras to make process more comfortable so chose heated eye gel mask makes you feel relaxed while work being done.Next time ill choose dvd Goggles.Ive my final stage in 3 weeks and so far all has went to plan .The staff in the practice are great they're so helpful and efficient nothing is too much trouble. As someone who has been terrified of the dentist all my life I can honestly say I wish I found The Tooth Doctor years ago. After reviewing all the dentists I decided to book in with Jane as she has an interest in treating nervous patients. I was all prepared to have sedation at every appointment I was that frightened. I went for my consultation and I was immediately put at ease from the moment I walked in the door. Jane is outstanding, explained everything to me and understood my fears. I had a fair few procedures done and I didn't require sedation for any of it, I honestly can say I never felt a thing!! There was zero judgement from Jane, Jade or anyone.I have now been attending appointments with Kelly the dental hygienist and again everything has been fantastic. Kelly is a magician when it comes to cleaning your teeth and is so friendly. I had to have a fairly complex crumbled tooth root extraction, which I must admit I was very worried about, but Gerry and his assistant were excellent and delivered on their 'no pain' commitment. I felt absolutely no pain throughout the extraction even though he had to cut the gum and put stitches in. Even once the anaesthetic had worn off, I still had no pain. Fantastic service, I have no hesitation in recommending The Tooth Doctor and particularly Gerry.

Gerry and his team of highly skilled staff provide an excellent range of services and high quality care. Gerry made me a bespoke 'splint' (which fits my top row of teeth perfectly) and has solved my night-time grinding problem. This has been absolutely brilliant, it fits really well, feels comfortable and has stopped me grinding my teeth through the night. I'm pain free and have no more jaw ache and headaches. Gerry & Amy finished off installing a rear lower implant, yesterday.The whole process was much less painful than previous impants, done elsewhere.The use of 3D scanning rather than having to bite into moulding clay, is IMHO a big leap forward.Having had other failed implants before, I'd highly recommend the Tooth Doctor.
