Composite Bonding vs Veneers Carluke

Composite Bonding vs Veneers in Carluke: Which Is Right for You?

Composite Bonding vs Veneers Carluke: Which Is Right for You?

Composite bonding and veneers are two of the most requested cosmetic treatments at Tooth Doctor in Carluke, and both can fix chips, close gaps and transform the colour and shape of your smile. If you are comparing the two, the right choice depends on what you want to change, how long you want the result to last and how much natural tooth structure you want to preserve.

This guide breaks down how each treatment works, where they differ and how to work out which one suits your smile before your consultation.

What is composite bonding?

Composite bonding uses tooth coloured resin applied directly to the tooth, then shaped, hardened and polished by the dentist. It can repair chips and cracks, fill gaps between teeth, improve the shape and proportion of individual teeth and refine the overall balance of your smile.

Bonding is highly conservative because little or no natural tooth structure is removed in many cases. Treatment can usually be completed in a single appointment, making it a popular option for patients who want a relatively quick improvement without the greater commitment associated with porcelain veneers.

With proper care, composite bonding can typically last around five to seven years, although this varies depending on your oral hygiene, habits and how much pressure the teeth are exposed to.

What are veneers?

Veneers are thin, custom made shells fitted over the front surface of your teeth. Porcelain veneers are a durable option for patients looking for a more comprehensive smile transformation. They are fabricated in a dental laboratory and bonded to the prepared teeth, allowing the colour, shape, size and proportions of several teeth to be changed together.

Porcelain veneers are generally more durable and more resistant to staining than composite bonding, although they are also a greater commitment because some enamel preparation may be required.

Composite veneers sit between bonding and porcelain veneers. They can provide a fuller change than bonding alone while generally remaining more conservative and affordable than porcelain veneers. The most suitable option will depend on your teeth, your goals and the result you want to achieve.

Composite bonding vs veneers Carluke: the key differences

  • Tooth alteration: bonding is highly conservative and often requires little or no removal of natural tooth structure, while porcelain veneers usually require some enamel preparation
  • Visits: bonding can usually be completed in a single visit, while porcelain veneers typically require more than one appointment because they are fabricated in a laboratory
  • Coverage: bonding is often used to address a specific issue on one or two teeth, while veneers can provide a fuller smile transformation across several teeth
  • Longevity: composite bonding typically lasts around five to seven years with proper care, while porcelain veneers are generally the more durable, longer lasting option
  • Cost: bonding is generally the more affordable option, while porcelain veneers represent a larger investment because of the materials, preparation and laboratory work involved

Which is right for you?

Composite bonding can be a good option if you want to address a single chip, gap or minor cosmetic concern while preserving as much natural tooth structure as possible. It is also a relatively quick treatment and can often be completed in a single appointment.

If you want to change several teeth at once and are looking for a more durable and stain resistant result, porcelain veneers may be more suitable. They provide greater scope to alter the colour, shape and proportions of multiple teeth as part of a wider smile transformation.

Your dentist will give you a recommendation based on your individual case, your dental health and the result you want to achieve. If you are considering a full smile makeover, teeth whitening may also be recommended beforehand so any new bonding or veneers can be shade matched to your desired colour.

What does it cost, and how do you get started?

The cost of both treatments depends on the number of teeth being treated and the complexity of your case, so pricing is confirmed at your consultation rather than quoted as a blanket figure.

Getting started begins with a consultation at Tooth Doctor in Carluke, where the team will assess your teeth, discuss your goals and create a personalised treatment plan based on your individual needs.

Looking after either treatment is straightforward. Brush and floss daily, limit staining foods and drinks, avoid biting hard objects with your front teeth and keep up regular dental and hygiene visits so any wear or problems can be identified early.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is composite bonding cheaper than veneers?

Generally yes. Bonding is usually the more affordable option, while porcelain veneers represent a larger investment because of the materials, preparation and laboratory work involved. Your exact cost depends on how many teeth are treated and is confirmed at your consultation.

How long does composite bonding last?

Composite bonding typically lasts around five to seven years with proper care. Good daily hygiene, limiting staining foods and drinks and keeping up regular dental visits can all help you get the most from your treatment.

Does composite bonding damage your teeth?

Composite bonding is a conservative treatment and often requires little or no removal of natural tooth structure. This means most of your original tooth remains intact underneath the composite resin. Your dentist will explain exactly what preparation, if any, is required in your case.

Which treatment is better for a single chipped tooth?

Composite bonding is usually a simple and cost effective option for a single chip or minor crack, as it can repair the affected area without the level of preparation usually associated with a veneer. Your dentist will assess the tooth and recommend the most appropriate treatment.

Is composite bonding painful?

Composite bonding is usually a comfortable, minimally invasive treatment and often requires little to no anaesthetic because there is minimal preparation of the tooth involved. Your dentist will talk you through the procedure and make sure you are comfortable throughout.

Benefits of Composite Bonding

What Are the Benefits of Composite Bonding?

What Are the Benefits of Composite Bonding?

If you’re looking for a simple way to improve the appearance of your smile, you’ve probably come across composite bonding. It’s one of the most popular cosmetic dental treatments available today, helping patients enhance their smiles with natural-looking results while preserving healthy tooth structure.

Whether you’re concerned about a chipped tooth, uneven edges or small gaps between your teeth, composite bonding offers a versatile solution that can address a range of cosmetic concerns.

At Tooth Doctor, we provide personalised composite bonding treatment for patients throughout Carluke, helping them achieve smiles that look natural and feel confident. In this guide, we’ll explore some of the key benefits of composite bonding and why so many people choose this treatment.

What Is Composite Bonding & Benefits of Composite Bonding?

Composite bonding is a cosmetic dental treatment that uses a carefully colour-matched composite resin to improve the appearance of your teeth.

The resin is applied directly to the tooth before being shaped and polished to create a smooth, natural-looking finish.

Rather than dramatically changing your smile, composite bonding is designed to enhance your natural teeth while preserving as much healthy tooth structure as possible.

1. It Can Improve a Variety of Cosmetic Concerns

One of the biggest advantages of composite bonding is its versatility.

It can often be used to improve:

  • Chipped teeth.
  • Worn tooth edges.
  • Small gaps.
  • Uneven tooth shapes.
  • Minor imperfections.
  • Overall smile symmetry.

Because every smile is different, your dentist will create a personalised treatment plan based on your individual needs.

2. It Preserves Healthy Tooth Structure

Many cosmetic treatments involve altering the natural tooth to some degree.

Composite bonding is different because it usually requires little or no removal of healthy enamel.

This conservative approach makes it an appealing choice for patients who want to improve the appearance of their smile while preserving their natural teeth wherever possible.

3. The Results Are Tailored to You

No two smiles are alike, and neither are two composite bonding treatments.

Your dentist carefully selects the shade of composite resin before shaping each tooth individually to create a smile that complements your facial features.

The aim is to achieve improvements that look natural rather than obvious.

4. It Can Be Combined with Other Cosmetic Treatments

Composite bonding is often used alongside other cosmetic dental treatments.

For example, some patients choose professional teeth whitening before composite bonding to brighten their natural teeth, while others complete orthodontic treatment before making final cosmetic refinements.

By combining treatments where appropriate, your dentist can create a personalised smile makeover designed around your goals.

5. It Supports a More Confident Smile

Many patients tell us that improving the appearance of their teeth helps them feel more confident in everyday life.

Whether it’s smiling in photographs, speaking at work or simply laughing with friends, even small cosmetic improvements can make a noticeable difference to how you feel about your smile.

Composite bonding is designed to enhance your confidence while maintaining a natural appearance that’s uniquely yours.

Caring for Composite Bonding

Looking after composite bonding is straightforward and very similar to caring for your natural teeth.

To keep your smile looking its best:

  • Brush twice every day with fluoride toothpaste.
  • Clean between your teeth daily.
  • Visit your dentist and hygienist regularly.
  • Avoid biting hard objects.
  • Wear a mouthguard if you participate in contact sports.
  • Follow any personalised aftercare advice provided by your dentist.

These simple habits help maintain both your oral health and the appearance of your composite bonding.

Why Choose Tooth Doctor?

At Tooth Doctor, we understand that choosing cosmetic dentistry is a personal decision.

Our experienced team takes time to understand your goals before recommending the treatment that’s right for you. Every composite bonding treatment is carefully planned to create natural-looking results that complement your smile while supporting your long-term oral health.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is composite bonding only suitable for cosmetic improvements?

Composite bonding is primarily used to improve the appearance of teeth, but it can also help restore the shape of chipped or worn teeth where appropriate. Your dentist will recommend the most suitable treatment based on your individual needs.

Can composite bonding be matched to my natural teeth?

Yes. Composite resin is available in a wide range of shades, allowing your dentist to carefully match it to your existing teeth for a natural-looking result.

How do I know if composite bonding is right for me?

The best way to find out is by booking a consultation. Your dentist will examine your teeth, discuss your smile goals and explain whether composite bonding or another cosmetic treatment is the most suitable option.

Dental Implants in Carluke: What the Process Involves and Why Tooth Doctor Is the Right Place to Start

Dental Implants in Carluke: What the Process Involves and Why Tooth Doctor Is the Right Place to Start

Dental implants are the most permanent and natural-feeling solution available for replacing a missing tooth, and for patients who are suitable they are almost always the first recommendation. But the process is more involved than most people expect when they first start researching, and the quality of the result depends enormously on the skill and experience of the team delivering it.

Tooth Doctor is based on Kirkton Street in Carluke. With a 4.9-star rating across 581 Google reviews, multiple award wins at the 2024 and 2025 Dentistry Awards, and a team that patients refer others to from across Lanarkshire and beyond, the practice has established itself as the most reviewed and most trusted implant provider in the area.

Why Choose Tooth Doctor for Dental Implants Carluke?

Choosing the right provider for implant treatment is one of the most significant dental decisions you will make. At Tooth Doctor, the case for choosing this practice rests on evidence that goes far beyond the usual claims.

Implant treatment is led by Gerard Skeffington (GDC 83305), who graduated from Dundee Dental School where he was awarded the prize for best student in dental hospital practice. At the earliest opportunity he obtained his Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and completed his Diploma in Dental Implants from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. He has since completed advanced postgraduate training in the UK, Brazil, and Europe, including advanced hard and soft tissue grafting in Hungary.

He has a background in maxillofacial surgery and works on complex referral cases including sinus lifts, bone grafts, and full arch restorations. He is supported by dedicated implant nurse Aimee McGhee (GDC 285725), who is sedation qualified and trained specifically in implant nursing at Tooth Doctor.

Smile Advisor Lauren Knox, who spent years as an implant dental nurse before moving into her coordination role, guides every patient through the process from initial consultation with a depth of clinical understanding that is rare at this stage.

The practice uses laser-assisted implant techniques, backs every implant with a lifetime warranty, and offers late appointments until 8pm Monday to Thursday, making it accessible for working patients in a way that most practices in the area cannot match. Pain-free treatment is a written guarantee: if you feel pain during any private procedure, your treatment visit is free.

The patient stories from Tooth Doctor are exceptional in their detail and consistency. One patient who lost nine teeth due to MS medication wrote:

“After my bone graft and sinus lift, all of which was done without sedation whilst listening to a playlist of my choice, I healed and then underwent my implant surgery. Gerry and his team are amazing and make you feel so welcome.”

Paul McLaughlin, who was told by another provider that an implant may not be possible due to infection and bone loss, wrote: “Gerry the dentist was outstanding and was able to rebuild the bone and place an implant much to my delight. The results of my treatment are amazing.”

Anne Doyle, whose previous implants from another practice had failed and started chipping, wrote: “Gerry took me on as a new patient, started from scratch, rebuilt the bones and helped me so much to regain my confidence.”

What Is a Dental Implant?

A dental implant is a small titanium post placed surgically into the jawbone where a tooth root used to be. Over several months, the bone grows around and fuses with the post in a process called osseointegration. Once that bond is confirmed, a custom-made crown is attached on top.

The result is a replacement tooth anchored directly into the jaw. It does not move, does not rely on neighbouring teeth for support, and requires no special maintenance beyond normal brushing and flossing. Most patients describe the finished result as completely indistinguishable from their natural teeth.

Why Implants Are the Gold Standard for Missing Teeth

When a tooth is lost, the jawbone at that site begins to lose density. A natural root transmits biting forces into the bone every time you eat, and without that stimulation the bone slowly resorbs. Over time this affects the shape of the jaw, the stability of neighbouring teeth, and in cases of multiple missing teeth, the appearance of the face.

Dentures and bridges replace the visible tooth but do nothing to prevent this bone loss. An implant is the only tooth replacement that replicates the function of a root, stimulating the bone and maintaining the structure that would otherwise be lost.

Beyond bone preservation, implants offer a level of stability and natural function that other restorations cannot match. With proper care, they are designed to last a lifetime.

Who Is Suitable for Dental Implants in Carluke?

Most healthy adults who are missing one or more teeth are potentially suitable for implants. The key requirements are sufficient bone volume at the implant site, healthy gums, and good general health to support healing after a minor surgical procedure.

Patients who have had a missing tooth for some time may have experienced bone loss at the site. In many cases this can be addressed with bone grafting before or at the time of implant placement. Gerard Skeffington has advanced specialist training in hard and soft tissue grafting and regularly treats patients who have been told by other providers that their bone loss is too significant for an implant. In many of these cases the grafting work required to proceed can be carried out in-house.

Active gum disease needs to be treated and stable before an implant is placed. Dental therapist Kelly O’Connor and hygienist Janice English support patients in achieving the gum health needed for long-term implant success.

Smoking increases implant failure rates and your dentist will discuss this honestly with you at your consultation. For patients with significant dental anxiety, Jane Napier has a specialist interest in sedation dentistry and has helped many patients who initially thought they would need to be sedated for every procedure complete their treatment entirely without sedation.

Medical conditions that may affect healing, including medication-related complications, are assessed individually. The MS patient review above is an example of Gerard Skeffington working around complex medication-related challenges to complete a full implant case successfully.

The only reliable way to know whether implants are right for your situation is a thorough clinical assessment. At Tooth Doctor, that process begins with a complimentary consultation with Smile Advisor Lauren Knox or Amber Jones, who will walk you through your options with no commitment and no pressure.

The Dental Implant Process at Tooth Doctor

Your Complimentary Consultation with Lauren or Amber

Your first step is a complimentary consultation with the Smile Advisor team at Tooth Doctor. Lauren Knox spent years as a dedicated implant dental nurse before moving into the Smile Advisor role, giving her a rare depth of clinical understanding to draw on when guiding patients through the implant process. Amber Jones has been guiding patients through their treatment journeys since 2017. There is no commitment and no pressure at this stage.

Clinical Assessment and Planning

Gerard Skeffington will carry out a full clinical examination including digital X-rays and 3D imaging to assess bone volume and anatomy at the implant site. A detailed treatment plan is built covering every stage, the full timeline, and a complete written breakdown of costs before anything moves forward. Written quotations are provided as standard and are one of the practice’s five written guarantees.

Any Preparatory Treatment

If the tooth is still present it is extracted first. If a sinus lift or bone grafting is needed, it is carried out at this stage and given time to heal before implant placement. This is work that many practices refer out to specialists. At Tooth Doctor it is handled in-house by Gerard Skeffington, whose advanced training in hard and soft tissue grafting means patients receive a seamless experience from first assessment to final crown.

Laser-Assisted Implant Placement

Tooth Doctor uses laser-assisted implant techniques for a more precise and minimally invasive placement. The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic using the practice’s five-step pain-free protocol: numbing gel applied first, warmed anaesthetic, the shortest and finest needles, a slow injection rate, and a computer-assisted delivery system.

The comfort menu at Tooth Doctor is one of the most extensive we have seen: back massager, paraffin hand wax, heated eye gel mask, DVD goggles, and the option to listen to your own playlist throughout. One patient who documented her double implant journey wrote: “I chose the heated eye gel mask, it makes you feel relaxed while the work is being done. Next time I’ll choose the DVD goggles.”

Healing and Osseointegration

The implant is left to fuse with the bone over three to six months. Check-up appointments monitor progress during this period but there is no active treatment. A temporary restoration keeps the gap closed while healing takes place.

Your Crown

Once osseointegration is confirmed, a digital scan or impressions are taken to fabricate your custom crown. The crown is matched to the colour, shape, and size of your surrounding teeth. When it is fitted, the implant is complete and fully functional.

Laser-Assisted Implants With a Lifetime Warranty at Tooth Doctor

Tooth Doctor offers laser-assisted dental implants backed by a lifetime warranty. The practice also provides a money-back guarantee on implant treatment: if you are not able to eat the foods you love again after treatment, your money is refunded. These written commitments reflect the confidence Gerard Skeffington and the team have in both the technique and the results they deliver.

Full Mouth Dental Implants in Carluke

For patients who are missing multiple teeth or who require a full arch restoration, Tooth Doctor offers comprehensive full mouth implant solutions including implant-supported dentures and same-day teeth on implants. Gerard Skeffington has experience with full arch cases including patients who require sinus lifts and significant bone reconstruction before placement.

One patient described the full process: “I badly needed a new smile which involved quite a bit of work including gum reduction, implants and crowns. I had an initial consultation with Gerry Skeffington where he took me through the whole treatment plan and timelines. I am absolutely delighted and can’t thank Gerry and all the staff at the Tooth Doctor enough.”

How Long Do Dental Implants Last?

With proper care, the implant post is designed to last a lifetime. The crown may need replacing after 15 to 20 years depending on wear, but the implant itself rarely requires intervention once it has successfully integrated.

Good oral hygiene and regular check-ups are the main requirements for long-term success. Hygienist Janice English and dental therapist Kelly O’Connor support patients in maintaining the gum health and oral hygiene that underpin long-term implant success at every routine appointment.

Dental Implant Costs and Finance Options in Carluke

The cost of a dental implant depends on how many are being placed, whether preparatory work such as bone grafting or a sinus lift is needed, and the type of crown used. A complete written breakdown of costs is provided before any commitment is made. This is one of the practice’s five written promises to every patient.

Finance options are available to help spread the investment and are discussed at your complimentary consultation with Lauren or Amber so you have a clear picture of your monthly commitment before agreeing to anything. The practice is open until 8pm Monday to Thursday, making it accessible for patients who cannot easily attend during standard working hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who carries out dental implants at Tooth Doctor in Carluke?

Implant treatment is led by Gerard Skeffington (GDC 83305), who graduated with the best student prize from Dundee Dental School, holds a Diploma in Dental Implants from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, and has completed advanced training in hard and soft tissue grafting including sinus lifts and complex bone reconstruction. He has a background in maxillofacial surgery and regularly accepts referral cases. Dedicated implant nurse Aimee McGhee works alongside him throughout every case.

Are dental implants painful at Tooth Doctor in Carluke?

Tooth Doctor guarantees pain-free treatment backed by a money-back promise. Implant placement uses a five-step pain-free protocol, laser-assisted techniques, and a full comfort menu including back massager, paraffin hand wax, heated eye gel mask, DVD goggles, and personal playlist. As one patient wrote: “The whole process was painless and comfortable throughout. The aftercare has been second to none.”

How long does the dental implant process take in Carluke?

From consultation to fitted crown, most single-tooth cases take between six and twelve months. Cases requiring bone grafting or a sinus lift take a little longer but the final result is the same. One patient whose treatment ran from April to December 2025 described the journey in detail, noting that every stage was pain free and the aftercare was exceptional.

Can I get a dental implant if I have been told it may not be possible?

It is worth having a consultation with Gerard Skeffington before accepting that conclusion. His advanced training in bone grafting and sinus lifts means cases involving significant bone loss can often proceed. Several Tooth Doctor patients have received implants after being told elsewhere that insufficient bone made it impossible.

Does Tooth Doctor offer finance for dental implants?

Yes. Finance options are available to help spread the cost, and the practice offers late appointments until 8pm Monday to Thursday to accommodate patients who work during the day. Finance options are discussed at your complimentary consultation with Lauren or Amber.

Are dental implants available on the NHS in Carluke?

NHS provision for dental implants is very limited and typically restricted to specific clinical criteria. In most cases implants are provided privately. Tooth Doctor offers finance options to help make the investment manageable.

What happens if I do not replace a missing tooth?

Leaving a gap leads to gradual bone loss at the site, drifting of neighbouring teeth, and changes to your bite over time. These effects compound and make future treatment more complex. Replacing a missing tooth promptly is considerably simpler and more cost-effective than addressing the secondary problems that develop if the gap is left untreated.

Smile Makeover in Carluke

What Treatments Are Included in a Smile Makeover in Carluke?

What Treatments Are Included in a Smile Makeover in Carluke?

Smile design in Carluke at Tooth Doctor is a personalised process built around what you want to achieve. The treatments included in your makeover depend on your specific concerns, your dental health and what will most effectively deliver the result you are looking for. This guide covers the treatments most commonly part of a smile makeover so you arrive at your consultation informed and prepared.

Planning Your Result Before Treatment Begins

Every smile makeover at Tooth Doctor starts with thorough planning before any clinical work begins. We use digital smile design tools to create a visualisation of your potential result during the consultation. You can see the proposed direction, give us feedback and refine the plan until it genuinely reflects your vision. Find out more about our approach at tooth-doctor.co.uk.

This planning stage is where excellent cosmetic results are built. A clear, agreed vision shared by both patient and dentist before treatment begins produces far more reliably satisfying outcomes than starting work without it.

Professional Teeth Whitening

Professional teeth whitening is the most accessible starting point in smile design. Prescription-strength whitening gel in custom-fitted trays produces results significantly more even and dramatic than anything available without a dental prescription. In-chair whitening delivers an immediate result in a single appointment. Custom take-home trays give you control over the pace and are reusable for future top-ups.

In a smile makeover, whitening is typically done first. Brightening the natural teeth establishes the new colour baseline, and any veneers, bonding or other restorations placed afterwards are shade-matched to this brighter tone. The result is a consistent and natural-looking colour throughout the whole smile.

Composite Bonding

Composite bonding uses tooth-coloured resin applied directly to the tooth, shaped and hardened by the dentist. It can repair chips and cracks, fill gaps between teeth, improve the shape and proportion of individual teeth and refine the overall balance of the smile in a single appointment.

Bonding is highly conservative because little or no natural tooth structure is removed. For patients wanting a meaningful improvement without the commitment of porcelain veneers, or who want to preview the direction before investing in something more permanent, composite bonding is the ideal starting point. Results last five to seven years.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are the most comprehensive option in smile design. Ultra-thin ceramic shells fabricated in a dental laboratory are bonded permanently to the front of the treated teeth, changing their colour, shape, size and surface texture all at once.

The ceramic reflects light in a way that closely mimics natural tooth enamel, giving well-made veneers a depth and translucency that makes them virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth. With proper care and regular check-ups, porcelain veneers last 15 years or more and maintain their appearance significantly better than composite alternatives over the long term.

Gum Contouring

The gumline frames the smile and its proportion and symmetry are just as important as the teeth themselves. An uneven gumline or one that sits too low and partially covers the tooth surface creates an imbalance that tooth treatment alone cannot fully correct.

Laser gum contouring reshapes excess or uneven gum tissue precisely. The result is a more symmetrical and balanced gumline that allows the teeth to sit properly within the smile and the finished result to look genuinely harmonious.

Orthodontic Treatment as a First Step

For patients with mild crowding or spacing, a short course of clear aligner treatment before cosmetic finishing is often the most conservative and effective approach. Correcting alignment first means veneers or bonding sit on teeth that are already in the correct position, producing a more natural-looking result and reducing the amount of cosmetic material needed on each tooth.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need all of these treatments for my smile makeover in Carluke?

No. Your plan will only include the treatments relevant to your specific concerns and goals. Some patients need only whitening. Others benefit from a more comprehensive combination. The consultation is where we determine exactly what is right for your smile based on your actual teeth and what you want to achieve.

How long does smile design take from consultation to completion in Carluke?

A whitening and composite bonding plan typically takes two to three appointments over a few weeks. A plan including porcelain veneers takes four to six appointments over four to eight weeks to allow for laboratory fabrication. Your dentist will give you a specific timeline at your consultation.

Is composite bonding or porcelain veneers better for smile design in Carluke?

It depends entirely on your situation. Composite bonding is more conservative, more affordable and completed in a single visit. Porcelain veneers are more durable, more stain-resistant and more comprehensively transformative. The right choice depends on what you want to change, how long you want the result to last and how much natural tooth structure you want to preserve. Your dentist will give you an honest recommendation based on your individual case.

Honestly can't recommend these guys enough...been told for years how painful a root canal is, and to avoid it. I had one recently with Gerry and Aimee and there was literally no pain throughout the entire process. Not a single bit. Amber was super helpful in explaining the whole process and getting a payment setup, as well as putting my mind at ease about everything. I can't stress enough how much easier and just how little stress there is with these guys. The "pain free dentistry" couldn't be any more true.

Being a very anxious patient and not going to the dentist for years. I found the tooth doctor in carluke and was given an appointment with Jane. From our first meeting she put me at ease straight away. She explained there was an option for sedation if need be. I Required root treatment and fillings and a crown. After needing sedation for the first part of my treatment plan, I managed today at my appointment without it. Many many thanks to Jane and Jade for making me feel that I could cope looking after me every step of the way. The results of my treatment have given me confidence to smile again . I'm so grateful. Ten out of ten.Thank you so muchCarol Gosling

My husband and I had our routine checkups with Dr Sophia yesterday morning.Since we arrived at the practice we were given a very warm welcome. Our appointment with Sophia and the dental nurse was warm, friendly and caring and most of all the advice and care taken was incredible. My husband’s teeth got a clean bill of health but I need a very small filling. We wouldn’t go anywhere else for our dental experience as the care provided at the tooth doctor is second to none.Kenny & Helen Clark

I can't recommend GerrySkeffington and the team at the Tooth Doctor highly enough. Gerry took the time to explain everything clearly and made me feel completely at ease from the very first appointment. The whole process was much easier than I expected, and every member of the team was friendly, welcoming, and professional. I always felt well looked after, and the aftercare is excellent.I'm absolutely delighted with the final result. The implant looks and feels just like a natural tooth, and it's given me so much more confidence when smiling and eating. If you're thinking about getting a dental implant, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Gerry and everyone at Tooth Doctor. Thank you for such fantastic care!

I went to this practice needing quite a bit of work done on my teeth. Confidence at an all time low. I had read reviews that made me choose them and choose Gerry and I am so pleased I did :-) he was honestly so helpful and non judgmental that I went with his suggestions on what was the best way forward for me and I am so happy with what his work that I would honestly 100 percent recommend choosing him and the whole tooth doctor team. Thanks Gerry and all of your team at the practice.Lynn

I booked an emergency appointment, and I was seen that same day. The staff listened to my concerns, and allowed me to be upset/distressed when the procedure happened without making me feel silly.Within 30m, they had a rotten tooth out, and it was overall a good experience. They take time to make sure you aren't in pain, and so far, the healing process has been extremely smooth.Thank you to the team for such empathetic, talented work.

2 old fillings restored and root canal completed…all totally pain free! in such a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. After my dentist retired last year, I was so apprehensive about going to someone else, but Jane was highly recommended…and I’m so happy to have found my new dentist - i trusted her straight away, so patient & kind, explaining everything as you go. Dental nurse Jade, and Jaclyn on reception also a credit to The Tooth Doctor 🌟if you are anxious/worried at all about the dentist, please don’t hesitate to give them a visit! you won’t regret it

Unfortunately due to my medication to help control my Multiple Sclerosis causing dry mouth, even using prescribed toothpaste and mouthwash I lost 9 of my top teeth. My own dentist recommended Gerry when we discussed implants. After contacting The Tooth Doctor I had my free consultation where we discussed my options and I was given a no obligation estimate for my treatment plan.On my 1st apt with Gerry, I was very relaxed about the full process, Gerry explained every detail of my treatment plan. After my bone graft and sinus lift all of which was done without sedation whilst listening to a playlist of my choice, I healed and then underwent my implant surgery. Once again healed and finally after a longer time than expected due to health issues with my MS, I finally got my implants fitted and they look amazing and I have regained my confidence to have a full smile and not have to worry about the issues that wearing a plate brings to your day to day living.Everyone has commented on how natural they look.Gerry and his team are amazing and make you feel so welcome and truly adhere to their moto of pain free dentistry.

I honestly couldn’t be happier with my experience at The Tooth Doctor, especially with my dentist Sofia. From start to finish, everything was spot on.I had been to a few different dentists before this and always struggled to get appointments that worked around my job, which was really frustrating. Sofia and the team were completely different — every appointment was arranged at times that actually suited my work schedule, which made a massive difference.I’m really happy with the results and feel much more confident smiling now.Sofia was professional, friendly, and explained everything clearly throughout the process, which put me at ease straight away.Couldn’t recommend The Tooth Doctor enough

The best thing I've ever done is go to the initial consultation with the Tooth Doctor.I had extremely crooked teeth my entire adult life which I was so embarrassed out. After meeting with Sofia I decided straight away to go ahead with Invisalign treatment. I needed all my appointments to be in the evenings after work which was never a problem. In just under 1 year I now have beautiful straight teeth that I can show off and be proud of. I always recommend the Tooth Doctor to anyone who listens and my daughter has now made an appointment to perfect her smile. I am so grateful to Sofia and Aimee for all their hard work and giving me my smile back!

I’ve just completed my treatment at The Tooth Doctor after a few months, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience!Gerry was incredibly patient and kind from the very beginning. He took the time to explain everything clearly, never rushed any part of the process, and showed real attention to detail, he’s truly a perfectionist. Throughout each procedure, he constantly made sure I was comfortable and at ease.I had been putting off going to the dentist for years due to nerves, but I honestly wish I had done this sooner. The environment is completely non judgmental, which made such a difference for me. Even better, the whole treatment and healing process was pain free 🤩.A special mention to Kelly, the dental hygienist, who was absolutely amazing. I never thought I’d describe a hygiene appointment as pleasant, but she completely changed my perspective!A big thank you as well to all the dental nurses and receptionists, who were always so friendly, welcoming, and helpful at every visit which really made the whole experience even better.Thank you all so much 🙏

A huge big thank you to the Tooth Doctor for my beautiful new smile.Having a fear of the dentist stopped me seeking early treatment over the years and lead to poor gum and bone health and a smile that i was ashamed and self conscious of.It was a long process to restore my gum health and smile, but Gerry took the process slowly to help me cope with my dentist anxiety. I even felt relaxed enough not to ask for sedation throughout my treatment even with the extractions and implant procedures which was an amazing achievment for me but entirely due to Gerry's understanding of anxiety and expertise in dentistry.Thank you to Gerry, Amy and all the reception staff who looked after me throughout the journey.

Excellent experience at The Tooth Doctor, Carluke. From the first contact through to the final results it was a pleasure to deal with the surgery. I was consulted throughout as to the result I wanted to achieve. I had a missing crown which I wanted to replace. I was given great advice and a range of options and prices to come to a solution. Gerry is a perfectionist which is exactly what you want when trusting someone with your smile. The surgery claims no pain dentistry and I can honestly say for the first time in almost 70yrs it absolutely lived up to the promise!I am delighted with my treatment and the results, I would highly recommend Gerry and the staff at The Tooth Doctor. Highly recommend. The staff are all lovely, I had most of my appointments with Sofia & Jade. Both are lovely, and Sofia is wonderfully professional, knowledgeable and immediately sets you at ease from the moment you step into the room. I needed a couple of fillings, both times the process was incredibly smooth and I genuinely barely felt a thing. Sofia built my filling up to look and feel like a real tooth, which was a new experience for me. The one filling I'd had before from a previous dentist always felt very smooth and artificial. The dentistry team take great care and attention in everything they do and the later opening hours/appointment system works very well for someone like me who works 6 days a week almost all year round. Can't recommend the Tooth Doctor highly enough!

As someone who has been terrified of the dentist all my life I can honestly say I wish I found The Tooth Doctor years ago. After reviewing all the dentists I decided to book in with Jane as she has an interest in treating nervous patients. I was all prepared to have sedation at every appointment I was that frightened. I went for my consultation and I was immediately put at ease from the moment I walked in the door. Jane is outstanding, explained everything to me and understood my fears. I had a fair few procedures done and I didn't require sedation for any of it, I honestly can say I never felt a thing!! There was zero judgement from Jane, Jade or anyone.I have now been attending appointments with Kelly the dental hygienist and again everything has been fantastic. Kelly is a magician when it comes to cleaning your teeth and is so friendly. I would recommend The Tooth Doctor to anyone who is nervous about attending the dentist.I will continue to attend the practice as I have now found the place that I feel comfortable, listened to and most of all non judgemental professionals who are quite simply bloody fantastic!!!!.A great team 🦷🦷
